I received my deerling in much the same fashion. I have not regretted the choice. If you get the opportunity to catch one, do so.

Very well. I have not found another interested in catching it. It does not yet have a pokeball and still counts as 'wild'. If necessary I cn catch it and trade it to you, assuming you can't currently battle a pokemon of roughly level eighteen or so. I have been told growlithes are quite popular, it may be a useful addition to your breeding list.
