[Audio only. The voice is a rather pleasant baritone.]

Good evening, denizens of this new world, human and pokemon alike. I am Xemnas. Perhaps there will be a few of you who recognize such a name.

[His pleasant tone never wavers; there's almost no emotional inflection at all.] This is a world I know little of. I have studied the information I have been able to find, and this little foal has been very dutiful in attempting to aid me in that search. [At this, there is a small, cheerful-sounding "Blitz!" in the background.]

If one could supply further information, or where to find it, I would be ... grateful. But tell me, countless unknown strangers, is it truly so that the humans of this world avoid combat in favor of asking their pokemon to do it for them? My small friend here seems incapable of fighting anything much tougher than a tumbleweed- [A protesting whinny this time.] -and yet I am to rely on it for my defense against all this strange world might strike with?

[It's thoughtfully said, as if this 'Xemnas' has no investment in the question or possible answers.]

[OOC: yeah I stole the sample post off my app. ;_; guilty.]

Well, I don't know everything, but I've been here for almost eight months now, so I do know a few things about this world.

A lot of people just seem to go along with it because there isn't anything else to do other than wait for a way back to our own worlds to be found, but for some people, it's better than what they had back home.

You don't have to make them fight. You can breed them and give away the babies. Or raise them. I'm happy just spending time with them and getting to see all the sights.

For some people, it's even another chance at life. I'd like to see my family again, but I know everything is alright in my world now. I can wait to see them again.

That's understandable. You could always choose to do so further down the road, though. I think there's something for everyone, really. Breeding, taking on all the gyms, travelling, collecting...there's a lot to do.

Mmhm. It's very worth it. It's better than nothing, isn't it?

I can't say for sure about Kanto, as I haven't been there yet. I haven't seen a library personally, but if there is one, your best bet is probably Goldenrod City.

Why's that?

[Curious girl is curious. There was practically nothing in her world, and it was so lonely. Why would he prefer it? Sounding pleasant is a good change. Most people tend to sound lost and confused when they arrive here.]

No, Goldenrod is a couple of weeks travel by foot from New Bark Town. There should be a map function on your pokégear.

I see. I suppose you have a good point there. Doesn't it get lonely though? Or boring? There has to be something new and exciting you want to try, right?

It's a little confusing at first, but once you get used to it, it's really easy to work with. He sounds pretty cute.

[That certainly sounds lonely to her. But she was too when she first arrived, and now she has all kinds of friends! Maybe it would be the same for him.]

Oh...

Maybe. You won't know until you try, right?

Electric...is weak against ground types. So a Grass type would help, I think. Pokémon sometimes learn attacks that aren't of their type too, which can help a lot. If you keep your team balanced though, you shouldn't have many problems.

I can't remember if there are any right around there, but if you hold the gear up to a pokémon, you can kind of scan it to see what it is, get some general information on it, and learn what types of attacks it currently knows. If there's a particular pokémon you're interested in finding, you could look it up manually and look for information on where it can be found in the wild.

I'm sure you'll learn all about all the different ones soon enough.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about Kanto to help you decide. I plan on travelling there eventually though. Even if it's just to go sightseeing.

I think it does.

[That shows you how much she uses it. Not a whole lot.]

Mm. I hope you find the information you're looking for. There are a lot of other people who would be more than willing to help you if you need it, too.
