[It's.. a blitzle, poking cautiously with a stick clenched in her teeth. Distinctly. And it's still nighttime, OR said blitzle is somewhere rather dark. It could be Ilex Forest, that place doesn't get too bright even in daytime. She hasn't figured out human speech, so her very quiet activation of the pokegear and query are both quite firmly properly 'pokemon'. There is a deerling jostling for position, but seems to lack the size and weight to shove the blitzle aside.]

I know I'm not allowed to use this but I think I can make the messages go away later on. Does anyone know how to make your trainer happy again after you've made him mad? We've tried a lot of things, and it doesn't work!

Just us, and an egg. Our trainer hasn't wanted to keep any of the pokemon we've defeated yet. I'm still surprised sometimes that he's even kept us.

[Sorrow seems a little befuddled that grooming ISN'T a good way to build good relationships, but maybe humans just were that different from deerlings. His opinion earns him a half-hearted kick in his direction; it doesn't impact and the deerling doesn't move.]

He just wants the best he can get, I think. Very high standards, like some pokemon won't eat a berry if it's got a bit of an odd color or is chewed on a bit but others don't mind at all. We have to be really strong, but since it's just us we can't handle everything he asks us to fight yet. ...Ah. Working together's just going to take a lot of practice, won't it?

[Chimera looks sympathetic at what Sorrow says. It really does remind him of what Envy was like at first, and that hadn't been a good feeling at all.]

Yes, working like a team does take practice. And you both have to be willing to help each other for it to work. One of my teammates is a Yanmega, Bicho, who is much faster than I am, but he gets hurt easier. So when we fight a battle together, I can let him hide behind me from strong attacks, and he can use his speed to distract faster Pokemon so that I can hit them better. If he wanted to be out in front all the time, I wouldn't be able to attack without hitting him. And if I refused to take damage for his sake, he'd be knocked out quicker and I'd have to face several opponents alone.

I've been good friends with Bicho ever since I was a small Larvitar. We played together all the time, and now we know each other so well that it is very hard to beat us. So maybe if you have a hard time fighting battles together, you could start out playing games like tag instead. Or hide and seek. Then you might find that you like each other better, too. It's nice to have a good friend when your trainer isn't very, ah... [He pauses, searching for the word he wants. The Blitzle probably wouldn't like it if Chimera said his trainer wasn't a good one yet.]

[Loyal Starter is loyal; she certainly wouldn't like anyone saying anything bad about Xemnas. Sure he wasn't the friendliest guy, or the most affectionate, but he made sure they were healthy and didn't demand they tackle gyarados or something. That didn't mean she didn'tk now there was something... wrong, with how this was working. So she's listening, small black ears set back against her head, but she's listening.]

Sorrow and I are almost as fast. I'm stronger, but he can change his type so things can't use his species against him. I guess .... I guess that would make him more versatile than me?

[She doesn't seem too keen on suggesting anything might be better at anything than she is.]

What if our trainer doesn't like us playing? We sometimes get to play with his stuff, but that's not really a proper game. I like games, but I don't want to disappoint him anymore. We might just get left at a pokecenter or something.

[The pokedex is briefly abandoned in favor of the blitzle attempting to clamp her teeth down on the deerling's ear and give it a shake. He squeals and kicks to get free, but in spite of the newly sore ear, seems to appreciate Chimera's advice. There's something mumbled to this effect, as the blitzle takes the pokegear back over.]

We're not going to be abandoned, we just need to pick up the slack! ...W-well maybe if we can't when he's awake we can when he's asleep, like right now. It can't hurt to try, as long as we're quiet.

Can't go too far, there's still wild pokemon around. ...Will it be easier to tell what our strengths are when we evolve? You're a really big sort of fellow, so it's easier to see what you're good at, but we're still small.
