[The video clicks on to focus not on Xemnas, but a rather sedate looking kadabra carefully picking burrs out of a blitzle's fur, the ever-present kadabra-spoon held in its teeth. Both have rather new looking and fairly loose black collars studded with small silvery ...studs, and a single bright silver charm a little too distant to make out clearly. Neither seem to mind said collars, possibly because they'd be able to get them off very easily if they wanted to. When Xemnas speaks, likely the one holding the camera, he sounds bemused.]

I have finally seen evolution in this world for myself, but not with one of the pokemon I have had the longest. Is it odd, that the abra I captured not so long ago, evolved so quickly into its next form? Or is this common for wild-caught pokemon? I have high hopes of seeing the second stage of Regret's own evolution soon.

[The blitzle notices the camera first and perks up visibly. Then begins making faces at it, no small fete for a horselike face. Aside from a slow flick of its rather fluffy tail, the kadabra doesn't bother to divert from its goal of burrs.]

Additionally the growlithe that had chosen to accompany me is still present. If anyone is desirous of having a free growlithe, alert me and I will bring it somewhere you can capture it. To the young man I purchased the gastly egg from: it is a remarkable creature, and one I suspect I will keep for some time. You must be very pleased with its parents.

[My, what kind words! Shes a little surprised to hear them in all honestly, but Perona's also rather grateful for the vote of confidence as well - usually it's not her getting encouragement for anything, because she doesn't really ever do much, but it's still nice to have someone tell you not to give in on something that's difficult. A simple smile is all the thanks Xemnas will get, though, whether he take it or not.]

Mm? Oh, he'll simply wander off sometimes to forage when we take a break from training and come back with something in his paws. It's the same when we travel between our training grounds and the hospital - he'll find things and just keep them in his paws until I notice.

I think it's a special ability only my cute Bearsy has. None of my other pokemon have done the same at all, but I do recall it being called...pick up? Someone I spoke to a while ago said that, I think.

[Anything that seems like helpful kind words with no other reason to them are likely some kind of plot. Xemnas seems to accept a smile though. Besides, there's information to gain here!

And more knowledge is always useful.

Especially when it comes to talents and skills he had yet to discover for himself. This tendency to find items.. could be useful. This was going to require digging through his pokedex later.]

I see. I will in that case endeavor to find a pokemon for myself with such an ability. It sounds very convenient indeed. I envy your ability to find useful pokemon so easily, Miss Perona. All your little ghosts, your fierce little bird, and now this bear to find you things so you don't have to waste time buying it..

[He doesn't sound envious, but real envy isn't a feeling he's really gotten a good grasp on yet.]

[H E H. Her smile become a devious, smug kind of smirk. He may not sound it, but Peronas come to expect very littlr reaction from men of Xemnas' type - though she knows better deep down. He's jealous! And while she does indeed love her pokemon, she never really thought of them as overly useful. Her Litwick and Pidgey were wonderful for warding off bugs and flying her places, and Teddiursa's ability was a true godsend, but she never thought too much on the others. It puts her team's usefulness into a whole new perspective.]

Is that so? I never thought I was very fortunate at all...having to find all these creatures on my own, and having no luck with others that I want, either. But now that I really think on it, I'm glad I have the cuties I have with me. [Except her Cranidos.] Bearsy-kun's ability has been extremely useful, I will agree to that, though. The others I haven't exactly seen any real good nor bad come from them, but Mihawk-kun's suits him.

[Anything like smugness in Perona seems to go unnoticed by Xemnas. While it's sure he does actually notice, he doesn't actually react much. Then again she probably expects that.

He was certainly going to have to find something with as useful a habit. Some sort of bear pokemon, wasn't it..?]

And yet you've found some of them on your own. What other pokemon do you wish to find specifically?

[There's a moment's pause, and a thoughtful look.]

I wonder, when perhaps you've gained your badge for flying, or if you happen to be in the vicinity of Violet City any time soon, that you might be willing to show me your little companions in person.

Well, I need strong water pokemon. I have an egg for a cute penguin, but anything more would be very good to have - especially one I can ride over large bodies of water...i-if I can't immediately fly over them with Mihawk-kun.

[This is the first time Xemnas will see Perona looking uncomfortable. If there's one thing she hates to talk about, it's her weaknesses - and where others from her would would be wholly aware of them if they knew her powers, people here don't, and thus she feels the need to better conceal them. She can't exactly trust the people of this world of multiple words not to double-cross her more than the slimy human beings of her own world.]

Most other things I haven't thought of...but I won't tolerate nasty insects anywhere near me. Only cute bugs like butterflies, spiders, and bumblebees are okay. Anything like that. Oh! And maybe a dragon. Eheh, i's befitting of a princess to have a terrifying dragon guarding her, correct?

[The discomfort is noted, and Xemnas weighs it quietly. There were appropriate actions to take, but what they were precisely was ... elusive. How did his Nobodies handle it when their own friends, or 'friends', were uncomfortable or unhappy?]

Perhaps you could question local breeders, or the breeding center, for something that would be shortly after hatching, or even right after capture, useful for such a purpose? Even if it is only temporary a teammate to have, it would... mm, fill in the gap?

[There's uncertainty in the suggestion, but Xemnas hides it well. He can fake some things better than others. Genuine comfort isn't one of those things.]

Ahh, dragons perhaps would be suitable. I hear they're quite cute in their early evolutions as well. ...Though not so much as they grow, I'm afraid.

That may be well enough to do, just so long as I can use something to ride on. Though I think I'm wise enough not to need anything, or do much exploration in the water on my own until I have something that could assist me if something were to go wrong. [And it would, if her weakness still plays a major part here. Perona's not ready to chance anything until she has a good enough safety net in the ways of a strong and large aquatic pokemon.] But your suggestion is a good one. Until I hatch my little penguin and it grows I could do well to learn where to catch a larger and stronger water type.

Perhaps if there's a dragon that can ride the waves, I'll accept it. Or any kind, really...especially if it starts off cute and small. I could grow to care for it, even if it becomes something not quite to my tastes. I enjoy a strong ally as much as a cute one.

I have gone swimming a time or two. There are many and hazardous creatures beneath the waves but one has little to fear from the magikarp. Nonetheless, if you come across one, treat it with kindness for all that it is a hideous, useless little fish.

[Xemnas ...would suggest where to find good solid large and tough water-types but that's one of the things he hasn't figured out himself. There is a moment's uncomfortable pause as he realizes he only really knows where to find squid and carp. That's not very useful.]

There is a boy I know that is very fond of collecting dragon pokemon. I could query him as to whether any of them are also aquatic and may suit your purposes? It would be little trouble, and any information gained would benefit both of us.
