[The video clicks on to focus not on Xemnas, but a rather sedate looking kadabra carefully picking burrs out of a blitzle's fur, the ever-present kadabra-spoon held in its teeth. Both have rather new looking and fairly loose black collars studded with small silvery ...studs, and a single bright silver charm a little too distant to make out clearly. Neither seem to mind said collars, possibly because they'd be able to get them off very easily if they wanted to. When Xemnas speaks, likely the one holding the camera, he sounds bemused.]
I have finally seen evolution in this world for myself, but not with one of the pokemon I have had the longest. Is it odd, that the abra I captured not so long ago, evolved so quickly into its next form? Or is this common for wild-caught pokemon? I have high hopes of seeing the second stage of Regret's own evolution soon.
[The blitzle notices the camera first and perks up visibly. Then begins making faces at it, no small fete for a horselike face. Aside from a slow flick of its rather fluffy tail, the kadabra doesn't bother to divert from its goal of burrs.]
Additionally the growlithe that had chosen to accompany me is still present. If anyone is desirous of having a free growlithe, alert me and I will bring it somewhere you can capture it. To the young man I purchased the gastly egg from: it is a remarkable creature, and one I suspect I will keep for some time. You must be very pleased with its parents.

You're first pokémon must just be one of them that takes longer to reach their second stage.
Video
Date: 2013-08-28 03:38 am (UTC)Is that so? I have seen little of either caterpies or weedles in the wild.. at the very least, Regret does not seem interested in her own evolution just yet. Nor my deerling. I suppose I will simply have to be patient. Unless of course you know at what point a blitzle ordinarily progresses to zebstrika? Or deerling to sawsbuck?

It looks like Blitzle evolves at level 27, and Deerling evolves at level 34. Which would be pretty long for a first evolution, but neither of them have any evolutions beyond that.

Date: 2013-08-28 03:36 pm (UTC)I believe twenty-seven isn't far off, as not long ago she learned Spark. Those with the latest evolutions tend to be strongest, I've been told. Can you confirm that as well?
Video
Date: 2013-08-29 04:58 am (UTC)I can't really answer that for sure. Most of my pokémon either had similar levels of evolution to each other, or had different triggers to evolve. It does make sense though, if both pokémon just evolved, then the one who did it at a higher level should be stronger.
I'm not sure if there's any advantage that'd hold up if both pokémon were at the same level and were the same type though.

Date: 2013-08-29 03:27 pm (UTC)I suppose the only way to truly be certain would be to test it out later on once I can afford the upkeep of a few more. Is there a way to prevent evolution?
Video (now in it's proper place)
Date: 2013-08-30 03:06 am (UTC)... I don't know why that would stop evolution, but it does. If you don't want one of your pokémon to evolve, that might be your best option.

Honestly, that's one of the things about this place that you really don't want to think about. A lot of it is stuff that doesn't make any sense and just gives a headache if you try to make sense out of it.
Video
Date: 2013-08-30 08:31 pm (UTC)I will see about acquiring one then. I am not far from Goldenrod, and it won't be much of a detour to return there..
[This world DID have a myriad headache-inducing rules and variants, and by the sigh Xemnas gives, he's painfully aware of it.]
Very well. Still, if it's possible for a gas pokemon to hold things, that could be interesting to study. Perhaps by condensing its particles in a single--
[Pauuuse. No. She seemed the sort of girl too young to really be interested in science, theory and experimentation.]
... I'm sure I'll figure out something. Thank you for your assistance.

[ And with that, she's going to disconnect for now. At least she was able to help him out a bit, right? ]
