[Audio only. The voice is a rather pleasant baritone.]
Good evening, denizens of this new world, human and pokemon alike. I am Xemnas. Perhaps there will be a few of you who recognize such a name.
[His pleasant tone never wavers; there's almost no emotional inflection at all.] This is a world I know little of. I have studied the information I have been able to find, and this little foal has been very dutiful in attempting to aid me in that search. [At this, there is a small, cheerful-sounding "Blitz!" in the background.]
If one could supply further information, or where to find it, I would be ... grateful. But tell me, countless unknown strangers, is it truly so that the humans of this world avoid combat in favor of asking their pokemon to do it for them? My small friend here seems incapable of fighting anything much tougher than a tumbleweed- [A protesting whinny this time.] -and yet I am to rely on it for my defense against all this strange world might strike with?
[It's thoughtfully said, as if this 'Xemnas' has no investment in the question or possible answers.]
[OOC: yeah I stole the sample post off my app. ;_; guilty.]

[sounds and stuff]
Date: 2013-07-22 11:50 pm (UTC)he does that a lot on his own, anyway. ]It's also illegal to attack people with our Pokemon, too. [ And the realization that there might be those types of people, well... ] The point is to battle other Pokemon and train and become stronger. Not... harm.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-22 11:59 pm (UTC)[Xemnas is one of those! Sometimes.]
Illegality will not prevent them from doing what they wish, and strength for the sake of strength is wasted effort. Surely there is more to this world than pit-fighting for bragging rights.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 12:10 am (UTC)That's what this world is all about. It has its own mysteries and logic, so maybe you would have a better time trying to figure those out.
[ Another pause, but it's a lot shorter. Just to get things clear on the matter: ]
Just don't seek out people to intentionally harm them. There will be people to stop you.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 12:17 am (UTC)[Xemnas isn't keen on being wasteful. He sounds a touch disapproving.]
However being capable of it should the need ever arise is not. There is a vital difference. I assume you understand it.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 12:23 am (UTC)[ Well, he doesn't seem to have changed from the mindset that he'd rather keep things if they proved some use than discard them outright. Such a contrast to Saix. ]
Did you arrive in a place called New Bark Town?
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 12:28 am (UTC).... Yes. It seems many new people to this world arrive here. I am considering taking the 'ferry' to another town, however, due to what I understand to be the balance of weaknesses and strengths in elemental types.
[For a moment, he sounds a touch wistful.]
If battle there must be, then there is no reason to not see to my little friend's strongest advantage. It will spare undue harm and effort.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 12:57 am (UTC)The ferry. She needs to re-check where that goes again, but at least he doesn't seem to be up to trouble. ]
Smart thinking. [ Not unexpected. ] The ticket will take up a lot of your initial funding, though.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 12:59 am (UTC)What do you call yourself, child?
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 01:04 am (UTC)It's Xion.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 01:22 am (UTC)[It's repeated with slow thoughtfulness; he has the pronunciation right at least. It's naggingly familiar, but Xemnas can't quite pin down why.]
Very well, Xion. Your assistance has been valuable. Should we cross paths, I will remember it in your favor.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 02:05 am (UTC)It's nothing much. I was in your shoes, once. It's only... right.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 02:16 am (UTC)Paying it forward, then. Do not underestimate the value of given aid at the appropriate time and place, child. The thorn you remove today may gain the assistance of a lion tomorrow.
[It's a bit of a cold way of looking at it, even kindness stripped down to its usefulness - but Xemnas wouldn't offer what might be advice if he didn't think it would be worthwhile. In his own way, he is painfully predictable. It might not be dangerous to encounter him, with the right preparation.]
... Tell me, if you know. Where might one find a 'grass type' pokemon, close to this town?
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 02:32 am (UTC)[ He's stuck with a Blitzle for now. She already has a slew of Pokemon that can protect her just in case. Her pause now is more her trying to remember if there was a Grass type around that area. ]
I think... If you have your Pokemon headbutt some of the trees on Route 29, you could find an Exeggcute. It looks like a cluster of eggs, but it's a Grass/Psychic type.
[ And she might regret this later, but. Sighs and sends the number of the Breeding Centre his way. ]
Or you could contact this place. Since you're new, you're eligible for the "Newbie Deal," though you could still pay for one if you could afford it.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 02:42 am (UTC)This cluster of eggs is one individual pokemon?
[This place is weird. The sigh likewise is noted, and filed away for later. It's almost as if she was reluctant to offer it.]
I see. And it.. [There's beeping going on.] Hm, offers eggs. How peculiar. That might be difficult to travel with safely, if the egg should break..
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 02:51 am (UTC)It takes a while for them to hatch, depending on the species, and they're a lot sturdier than they may look. If you want your Grass type, they'll send it to you when you get to a Pokemon Center. [ Pause. ] A place to heal your Pokemon for free.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 02:54 am (UTC)Hm. Is this healing always free? How frequently might one use it? Presumably you have tended these eggs in the past, how long is .. 'a while'?
[Toting an egg around for months is seriously going to interfere.]
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 02:56 am (UTC)A week is the usual time given. It's made quicker if they're placed against a Fire type Pokemon. For the stronger species, it might be two weeks.
[ Waiting is waiting. She's pretty sure Xemnas, of all people, could handle that. ]
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 03:04 am (UTC)I see.
[Volunteering: Exceedingly unlikely.]
Possessing no fire species, I suppose the full duration will be required. Again, your assistance has been ... appreciated.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 03:07 am (UTC)Good luck on your trip.
[audio]
Date: 2013-07-23 03:12 am (UTC)Thank you.
