[The video clicks on to focus not on Xemnas, but a rather sedate looking kadabra carefully picking burrs out of a blitzle's fur, the ever-present kadabra-spoon held in its teeth. Both have rather new looking and fairly loose black collars studded with small silvery ...studs, and a single bright silver charm a little too distant to make out clearly. Neither seem to mind said collars, possibly because they'd be able to get them off very easily if they wanted to. When Xemnas speaks, likely the one holding the camera, he sounds bemused.]
I have finally seen evolution in this world for myself, but not with one of the pokemon I have had the longest. Is it odd, that the abra I captured not so long ago, evolved so quickly into its next form? Or is this common for wild-caught pokemon? I have high hopes of seeing the second stage of Regret's own evolution soon.
[The blitzle notices the camera first and perks up visibly. Then begins making faces at it, no small fete for a horselike face. Aside from a slow flick of its rather fluffy tail, the kadabra doesn't bother to divert from its goal of burrs.]
Additionally the growlithe that had chosen to accompany me is still present. If anyone is desirous of having a free growlithe, alert me and I will bring it somewhere you can capture it. To the young man I purchased the gastly egg from: it is a remarkable creature, and one I suspect I will keep for some time. You must be very pleased with its parents.

Date: 2013-08-29 11:40 pm (UTC)Eh, and I'd suggest getting a bird for yourself, Xemnas-san. They're a little brittle to begin with, but I'm satisfied with Mihawk's strength, and especially how fast he is in battle.
Date: 2013-08-30 04:42 am (UTC)[And she didn't seem to be the hiking sort.]
Oh, I intend to. I am a little picky about what I allow onto my teams, however. I have yet to find a bird that matches what I am seeking. Surely I will sooner or later, but until then I remain birdless.
Date: 2013-08-31 01:37 am (UTC)Ehe, you're picky...but I understand what you're saying. A strong pokemon is the most beneficial. Something that fits your tastes and needs. [She pauses, trying to think.] I've seen some crow-like birds around Violet, at night. I don't know if you'd be interested in those?

Date: 2013-08-31 01:46 am (UTC)Some travel is good for a being. It just depends on the method used to do the traveling. Unless you are the type to prefer to see the same thing day after day, of course.
[Xemnas preferred his castle, but that would take time to rebuild. Then he wouldn't travel either.]
I'm uncertain a crow would grow large enough to carry me. [He sounds amused at the thought.] There is one bird I'd considered. It is called 'braviary', and seems like it might be of sufficient size. Boldly colored, but one can't help that.
Date: 2013-09-01 05:30 am (UTC)She makes a face at the first words Xemnas says, even sticking her tongue out a little bit - blech, who needs excessive walking? She's fit and trim already, and she'll keep it that way no matter what! Walking's just going to give her poor feet blisters and ruins her lovely clothes and boots at the same time! And she doesn't have enough money to buy any replacements...especially ones suited to her personal style.]
I prefer to liven up my life from time to time...repetition builds stagnation, Xemnas-san. I'd rather fly than float, if you understand my words. ...And I'm sure you'd rather fly yourself than walk, horohoro. [She laughs behind her hand, softly, then lifts an eyebrow. Braviary? Another pokemon she doesn't know about...but it sounds rather intimidating by the name alone.] I'll look it up, though I'm satisfied with my little Mihawk-kun. But if I can find out where you'll be able to find one, I'll let you know immediately...unless you know already.
[He seems rather good at gathering information. She has to do better herself, this is getting ridiculous. Maybe Violet has a library or something she can investigate. Hell, even a small bookstore or magazine stand, if she's lucky.]
Date: 2013-09-01 09:17 pm (UTC)[But he IS going to get a flyer sooner or later, just for sheer swiftness between locations. It took three weeks to get to Goldenrod, this is not a time scale he much enjoyed.]
I have not found where this particular bird roosts, no. I have kept a weather eye out but it may simply not be in the vicinity right now. I may have to push my travels a little further than Goldenrod's immediate vicinity. If you happen to see one before I do, of course, I would be grateful for the information.

Date: 2013-09-02 04:36 pm (UTC)I'm not one for strenuous activities myself... I prefer taking walks at my own leisure. [She shrugs lazily, waving her hand.] Of course, though you seem to be making better time than I at the moment, Xemnas-san. But if I happen to learn anything, or even find one of those creatures once I'm capable of air travel, I'll be sure to let you know immediately, like I said. It shouldn't be long before Mihawk-kun reaches his first evolutionary stage - or so I've been told.
[Or maybe even catch a Braviary for him, if she's feeling especially generous.]
Date: 2013-09-02 09:03 pm (UTC)And once you are capable of flight, you will easily outpace my progress through this world. A little gain now, but later I imagine I will lag behind. I hope for your lack of walking that your little bird sees fit to evolve soon then. I can't recommend double battles, or even using your entire team to fight at once, more than I have. It's very worthwhile.
Date: 2013-09-05 02:21 am (UTC)It'll be good to do so anyway...I've never thought much about fighting my cuties much in the past, but I've seen their strengths...and how useful they can be. Besides, I want them to grow to serve me better. [She can't slack off anymore, or be afraid of her pokemon fighting period.] And my adorable Bearsy's ability to find useful items and medicines while we travel is very useful, too! I don't have to spend much of my money or trek back to that hospital as often. I can spend time battling more and more often.
Date: 2013-09-05 05:51 pm (UTC)[It's something like encouragement. Kind of.]
...Really? How does it go about finding items?
[Xemnas' sudden interest is primarily because he had no idea any of them COULD do that and his weren't and if they were slacking off he'd have to do something about that.]
It sounds like a very useful skill. Did you teach it?
Date: 2013-09-06 03:07 am (UTC)Mm? Oh, he'll simply wander off sometimes to forage when we take a break from training and come back with something in his paws. It's the same when we travel between our training grounds and the hospital - he'll find things and just keep them in his paws until I notice.
I think it's a special ability only my cute Bearsy has. None of my other pokemon have done the same at all, but I do recall it being called...pick up? Someone I spoke to a while ago said that, I think.
[sorry for the delaaaaayyyyy]
Date: 2013-09-08 11:55 pm (UTC)And more knowledge is always useful.
Especially when it comes to talents and skills he had yet to discover for himself. This tendency to find items.. could be useful. This was going to require digging through his pokedex later.]
I see. I will in that case endeavor to find a pokemon for myself with such an ability. It sounds very convenient indeed. I envy your ability to find useful pokemon so easily, Miss Perona. All your little ghosts, your fierce little bird, and now this bear to find you things so you don't have to waste time buying it..
[He doesn't sound envious, but real envy isn't a feeling he's really gotten a good grasp on yet.]
[no worriiiieeess]
Date: 2013-09-11 02:11 am (UTC)Is that so? I never thought I was very fortunate at all...having to find all these creatures on my own, and having no luck with others that I want, either. But now that I really think on it, I'm glad I have the cuties I have with me. [Except her Cranidos.] Bearsy-kun's ability has been extremely useful, I will agree to that, though. The others I haven't exactly seen any real good nor bad come from them, but Mihawk-kun's suits him.

Date: 2013-09-11 09:37 pm (UTC)He was certainly going to have to find something with as useful a habit. Some sort of bear pokemon, wasn't it..?]
And yet you've found some of them on your own. What other pokemon do you wish to find specifically?
[There's a moment's pause, and a thoughtful look.]
I wonder, when perhaps you've gained your badge for flying, or if you happen to be in the vicinity of Violet City any time soon, that you might be willing to show me your little companions in person.

Date: 2013-09-15 08:07 pm (UTC)[This is the first time Xemnas will see Perona looking uncomfortable. If there's one thing she hates to talk about, it's her weaknesses - and where others from her would would be wholly aware of them if they knew her powers, people here don't, and thus she feels the need to better conceal them. She can't exactly trust the people of this world of multiple words not to double-cross her more than the slimy human beings of her own world.]
Most other things I haven't thought of...but I won't tolerate nasty insects anywhere near me. Only cute bugs like butterflies, spiders, and bumblebees are okay. Anything like that. Oh! And maybe a dragon. Eheh, i's befitting of a princess to have a terrifying dragon guarding her, correct?

Date: 2013-09-20 02:34 am (UTC)Perhaps you could question local breeders, or the breeding center, for something that would be shortly after hatching, or even right after capture, useful for such a purpose? Even if it is only temporary a teammate to have, it would... mm, fill in the gap?
[There's uncertainty in the suggestion, but Xemnas hides it well. He can fake some things better than others. Genuine comfort isn't one of those things.]
Ahh, dragons perhaps would be suitable. I hear they're quite cute in their early evolutions as well. ...Though not so much as they grow, I'm afraid.

Date: 2013-09-22 05:39 pm (UTC)Perhaps if there's a dragon that can ride the waves, I'll accept it. Or any kind, really...especially if it starts off cute and small. I could grow to care for it, even if it becomes something not quite to my tastes. I enjoy a strong ally as much as a cute one.

Date: 2013-09-22 07:48 pm (UTC)[Xemnas ...would suggest where to find good solid large and tough water-types but that's one of the things he hasn't figured out himself. There is a moment's uncomfortable pause as he realizes he only really knows where to find squid and carp. That's not very useful.]
There is a boy I know that is very fond of collecting dragon pokemon. I could query him as to whether any of them are also aquatic and may suit your purposes? It would be little trouble, and any information gained would benefit both of us.
