[The video clicks on to focus not on Xemnas, but a rather sedate looking kadabra carefully picking burrs out of a blitzle's fur, the ever-present kadabra-spoon held in its teeth. Both have rather new looking and fairly loose black collars studded with small silvery ...studs, and a single bright silver charm a little too distant to make out clearly. Neither seem to mind said collars, possibly because they'd be able to get them off very easily if they wanted to. When Xemnas speaks, likely the one holding the camera, he sounds bemused.]
I have finally seen evolution in this world for myself, but not with one of the pokemon I have had the longest. Is it odd, that the abra I captured not so long ago, evolved so quickly into its next form? Or is this common for wild-caught pokemon? I have high hopes of seeing the second stage of Regret's own evolution soon.
[The blitzle notices the camera first and perks up visibly. Then begins making faces at it, no small fete for a horselike face. Aside from a slow flick of its rather fluffy tail, the kadabra doesn't bother to divert from its goal of burrs.]
Additionally the growlithe that had chosen to accompany me is still present. If anyone is desirous of having a free growlithe, alert me and I will bring it somewhere you can capture it. To the young man I purchased the gastly egg from: it is a remarkable creature, and one I suspect I will keep for some time. You must be very pleased with its parents.

video; IT'S NEVER TOO LATE
Date: 2013-09-01 04:58 pm (UTC)And he seems baffled. Four months??]
Four months of constant work? What is your starter, if I may ask?
video
Date: 2013-09-01 05:07 pm (UTC)Well, it wasn't necessarily constant. I started with a Rufflet - evolves at level 54. Here-
[He shifts the camera over to his team, a large Braviary preening his smaller Swellow ladyfriend's feathers. It's about as disgustingly cute as it sounds, yeah, but he's gotten used to it.]
It's the big one.
video
Date: 2013-09-01 05:11 pm (UTC)Rufflet? Ah--
[He's been wanting one of those, and looks keenly interested as the camera is swung over to a Braviary.]
A magnificent creature, to be certain. I'm afraid a camera gives little sense of size even alongside another bird; is that Braviary large enough to carry an adult man? I've heard some are fully capable of it, the larger ones. Braviary seems to be one of the largest birds this world has.
video
Date: 2013-09-01 05:24 pm (UTC)Do you want a Rufflet because next time Cherokee and Atlanta do the do he will hook you up]
He's about 5 foot. I'd definitely trust him with a kid, but I wouldn't ride him. Not without Fly, anyway - from what I hear, that move lets a bird of any size carry a person of any size.
I think there's some bigger, though.
video
Date: 2013-09-01 05:26 pm (UTC)I have yet to figure out where to catch them from, however. ...Do you know of larger ones yourself?
video
Date: 2013-09-01 05:44 pm (UTC)I don't know where you can catch them, but... I'm a breeder, and last time Cherokee and Atlanta had a nest there were five Rufflet eggs in it. If you want one, I can keep you posted for next time.
Can't say I do off the top of my head. I think Noctowl have a few inches on them, and the big steel-flying ones? But you can find Hoothoot pretty much everywhere.
video
Date: 2013-09-01 05:54 pm (UTC)[Xemnas pauses, considering, then there's a beep as he shuffles through his pokedex.]
I'm not sure I've encountered a steel-flying pokemon yet. However if a noctowl only has a couple of inches of height on a braviary that might not be of much benefit.
video
Date: 2013-09-01 06:36 pm (UTC)[No, really, he doesn't.]
Hold on, let me-- [quiet beeping as he goes through his own] Here we go. It's about 5 inches on average, looks like. And... Oh right, Skarmory, that's what it's called.
Sorry, I work at the breeding center, so I see a lot of these things and then I can't for the life of me remember what they're called. Skarmory was the steel-flying type I was talking about, and it looks like it's about five foot seven on average. I can't think of any bigger than that.
video
Date: 2013-09-01 09:10 pm (UTC)[Skarmories are not in his list yet, nor does he know where to find them, but they're surely breedable. He'll have to keep an eye out; if he could see one in person he'd have a better idea of its size and capabilities.]
Ah, a breeder. It's always good to know more of those. I've always wondered if perhaps I got the lesser end of the deal when this world decided I should be a trainer.
video
Date: 2013-09-02 06:39 am (UTC)[He doesn't even know where Atlanta came from.]
It's possible to switch. The last guy I traveled with - he's...
[He's gone now.]
Not around anymore, but he was assigned to be a trainer when he got here. I've heard both have their perks, but I don't think I could hack it as a trainer. [There's a small smile there.] Took me four months to get Cherokee to evolve, after all.
Video
Date: 2013-09-02 09:05 pm (UTC)Do they just show up one day?
[Much like the growlithe he supposed.]
Oftentimes quality is preferable to sheer speed when it comes to training and instruction. A lesson well learned and practiced sticks better. It may have taken you four months, but do you have regrets over the time you have shared?
[Xemnas can guess the answer might be 'no' there.]
Video
Date: 2013-09-05 01:35 am (UTC)[He smiled a little at that.]
Nah. Cherokee and I had a rough start, but it's been better here than back home.
By the way, I didn't get your name. I'm Lee.
Video
Date: 2013-09-05 01:38 am (UTC)A little trouble for a greater blessing then.
[The possibility of waiting months to get a bird POSSIBLY large enough to carry him wasn't something he was quite sure he wanted to do. Maybe there would be something more suitable than a braviary for transport, though for battle..]
Ah. My apologies. I am Xemnas. It's interesting to meet you, Lee.
[Pronounced with a Z sound instead of a sharper X, even.]
Video
Date: 2013-09-05 01:57 am (UTC)...Over half of his pokemon were previously owned by one little girl in particular.]
That's a good way of putting it, yeah.
[He nods in response to the greeting.]
Good to meet you too, Xemnas.
How long have you been here? Out of curiosity.
Video
Date: 2013-09-05 05:45 pm (UTC)[Sometime around four months at the least, given how long it took the rufflet to evolve. Xemnas doesn't say so, but he's already making guesses.]
Video
Date: 2013-09-30 06:20 am (UTC)Was it late July back where you came from?
[Because it sure as hell wasn't April in zombieland.]
Video
Date: 2013-09-30 06:26 am (UTC)To be perfectly honest, I couldn't tell you. My city neglected to have things such as 'seasons', so guessing at what month it was would require finding a calendar and I rarely bothered. I think it might have been possibly in the springish or summerish sort of area, but certainty..
Video
Date: 2013-09-30 06:50 am (UTC)finalfantasy land, so he'll roll with it. He's a pretty chill guy. It's not like there aren't enough people who don't believe him when he tries to explain walkers.]
...Sounds like a cheerful kind of place.
I was just curious because it was fall back where I came from. Couldn't really tell you what month - the way the world was when I left it didn't care much about calendars either, though we still had seasons.
Video
Date: 2013-09-30 06:09 pm (UTC)If I may ask, what was the world like when you left it? Calendars were no longer, hm, in fashion?
Video
Date: 2013-09-30 10:57 pm (UTC)It was just... Bad stuff happened. Everyone had other things on their minds than checking the date.
Video
Date: 2013-10-05 06:31 am (UTC)[There's a pause; it's pretty easy to tell Xemnas is curious. And also weighing if it's worth asking.]
Some sort of crisis, I imagine? Timekeeping is rarely a priority then.
