[The video clicks on to focus not on Xemnas, but a rather sedate looking kadabra carefully picking burrs out of a blitzle's fur, the ever-present kadabra-spoon held in its teeth. Both have rather new looking and fairly loose black collars studded with small silvery ...studs, and a single bright silver charm a little too distant to make out clearly. Neither seem to mind said collars, possibly because they'd be able to get them off very easily if they wanted to. When Xemnas speaks, likely the one holding the camera, he sounds bemused.]
I have finally seen evolution in this world for myself, but not with one of the pokemon I have had the longest. Is it odd, that the abra I captured not so long ago, evolved so quickly into its next form? Or is this common for wild-caught pokemon? I have high hopes of seeing the second stage of Regret's own evolution soon.

To the young man I purchased the gastly egg from: it is a remarkable creature, and one I suspect I will keep for some time. You must be very pleased with its parents.

Date: 2013-08-28 06:59 pm (UTC)That sounds fair. Right now I'm currently residing in Violet City, which I'm sure is far away from where you are. My team of Pokemon has nothing in it worth trading to you at the moment and they aren't the level necessary to defeat it.
[ both her pokemon make a sad cry in the background when they hear "nothing in it worth trading". she isn't fazed by the sound, however. the fact that she doesn't have anything to trade him is kind of embarrassing for her, but she deals with it. ]
I don't suppose there is a Pokemon you have been on the lookout for that I can catch?

Nonetheless I wouldn't wish to part either of them from you. Perhaps in the future when you begin breeding I could ask after an egg. Then it would be a pokemon for a pokemon, simply a little delayed.

.. Fairly well, all told. I have begun attempting to keep a list of the pokemon I intend to catch or acquire as soon as I can, but most of them are quite some distance off. My team is learning to cooperate in battle, and though I suppose sending three pokemon after one wild one isn't particularly fair, it prevents excessive injury to both mine and the wild ones. Yourself?

Date: 2013-09-02 01:30 am (UTC)I have been doing well, myself. I found myself a job at the local Pokemon Centre to earn money. It will certainly help me in the long run, and after that I have plans to continue out on my journey. It's wonderful to hear that things are really coming along for you. I'm sure once you have a full team of six that catching Pokemon will become even easier! I have been thinking about fishing recently, because from my understanding there are Pokemon that can only be caught through interaction with the water. Have you done any fishing before?

May I ask what it is you do at a Pokemon Center? I've seen advertisements for jobs, but I do not know what one might do there. I imagine whatever it is it will help you long-term with your breeding projects.
[This matter of fishing draws a pause.]
Not in this world. I have in others, extensively. I have been told most aquatic types must be fished up, however. Magikarp are easy to lure to shore with bits of bread, but are difficult to catch there. In spite of being a 'very weak' pokemon, they swim quite quickly.

The other job that you can sign up for is a medical assistant. You aid Nurse Joy and help tend to the patients in the Pokemon Centre. I have a strong feeling that being so close to the many different types of Pokemon and seeing them on a day to day basis will help me as a Breeder, yes!
[ she wondered if he would try and get a job somewhere.. to her, he seemed a lot like the independent type! ]
They aren't much different from average fish, then.. I've heard that despite their less than amazing appearance - Magikarp can evolve into large serpent creatures called Gyarados that are very powerful. That might be why they are such strong swimmers!

It should serve you well for being a breeder as well, in keeping track of who is what's offspring and what skills they may be hatched with. I imagine breeding will likewise require a lot of paperwork. Likewise assisting the nurses. Anything you can do yourself is a good thing.
[He is not getting a job. He will find other ways. He's just too used to being the one giving out the orders to comply with taking them from someone probably younger than him and not as experienced at simply living. ... Iiiit's probably better this way.]
Oh yes. Gyarados are very impressive creatures. I have heard disparaging remarks due to their vulnerability to electricity but one has to say something positive for giant sea serpents. They are the sequoias of the pokemon world, I suppose. Something so large and powerful, from something so small.

Date: 2013-09-02 06:57 pm (UTC)It must be all Pokemon's achilles heel. Their type weaknesses put them at a disadvantage no matter how strong they believe they are. Though I've heard Dragon-type Pokemon are the most resilient. I'm looking into it, personally. Since if what I've heard is true, it would prove to be quite useful to me in the future! I also must look into those special moves I've heard about, that help when traveling in this world..
[ there's a little sigh, the sound of papers shuffling can be heard - but not seen. ]
